How to use it

Good to know

Which program is used to open .pptx files?

PowerPoint opens .pptx natively, and Google Slides, Keynote, LibreOffice Impress and WPS Office all import it. If you only need to read the file once, this viewer opens it with nothing installed.

Does it open old .ppt files?

No. .ppt is the pre-2007 binary format; this reads the modern XML-based .pptx. To convert one, open it in PowerPoint or Google Slides once and save as .pptx.

Why does my slide look simpler here?

Text boxes, images, tables and shape fills are redrawn from the slide XML. Animations, transitions, SmartArt and embedded video are not, so a heavily designed deck reads as a simplified version of itself.
