Borders for Google Slides

Google Slides has no page-border command, so the working method is a transparent PNG laid over the slide. Pick a style and colour, download at full 1920 × 1080, and add it to the slide master once to frame every slide in the deck.

How to use it

  1. 01/03

    Pick a style

    Solid rules, double lines, corner brackets, torn paper, dotted, botanical and more.

  2. 02/03

    Set colour and weight

    Any colour, any thickness, any inset from the slide edge. The preview is the download.

  3. 03/03

    Put it on the slide

    Insert the PNG as an image and stretch it to the full slide.

    For every slide at once, open Slide > Edit theme, select the master at the top of the list, and paste it there instead.

Good to know

Does Google Slides have a border option?

Not for the page. Format > Border & lines styles a selected shape or image only. To frame a whole slide you either draw a rectangle with no fill and an outline, or drop in a transparent PNG.

Why is the middle transparent?

So your text and images sit inside the frame instead of behind a white box. A JPEG cannot do this — it has no transparency — which is why these are PNGs.

Can I use these commercially?

Yes. They are generated shapes, not licensed artwork, so use them anywhere with no attribution.
