Backgrounds for Google Slides

Slide backgrounds sized right the first time: 1920 × 1080, generated in your browser, downloaded as PNG or JPG. Recolour any style, or shuffle for a palette you would not have picked — then set it as the background of one slide or the whole theme.

Shuffle picks a fresh palette for this style. New layout keeps the colours and redraws the texture.

How to use it

  1. 01/03

    Pick a style and palette

Each style takes any two or three colours. Shuffle proposes combinations that hold contrast for text.

  2. 02/03

    Check it against text

Toggle the sample heading on to see whether your slide copy will actually read on it.

  3. 03/03

    Set it in your deck

Google Slides: Slide > Change background > Image > Upload. PowerPoint: right-click the slide, Format Background > Picture fill.

Use Add to theme in Slides to apply it to every slide at once.

Good to know

Will my text still be readable?

That is what the sample toggle is for. Aim for a background that stays well clear of your text colour in contrast — busy or mid-tone backgrounds are where slide text goes to die.

PNG or JPG?

JPG for photographic and gradient styles, which compress far smaller. PNG for grids, paper and anything with hard edges, where JPEG artefacts show.

Can I use them commercially?

Yes. They are generated in your browser from shapes and gradients, not licensed stock, so there is nothing to attribute.
