What size is a PowerPoint slide?

Since PowerPoint 2013 the default is widescreen 16:9 — 13.333 × 7.5 inches, or 33.87 × 19.05 cm. Decks made before that default to 4:3 at 10 × 7.5 inches.

What is a slide in pixels?

PowerPoint measures in inches, so pixels depend on export resolution. At the standard 96 DPI a 16:9 slide is 1280 × 720; PowerPoint exports images at 1920 × 1080. Google Slides’ default is smaller: 10 × 5.625 inches, which its Page setup shows as 960 × 540 pixels. Any 16:9 image, such as 1920 × 1080, fills either one edge to edge.

How do I change the slide size?

In Google Slides, open File > Page setup and pick 16:9, 16:10, 4:3 or Custom, which takes inches, centimetres, points or pixels. In PowerPoint, open Design > Slide Size > Custom Slide Size. If the new size changes the shape, it asks how to scale what is already there: Ensure Fit shrinks content so all of it stays on the slide, while Maximize keeps it as large as possible even if some runs off the edges.

What size is a Keynote slide?

Keynote’s Wide size is 1920 × 1080 and its Standard size is 1024 × 768. A Wide deck exported to PowerPoint usually opens at 26.667 × 15 inches — the same 16:9 shape as PowerPoint’s 13.333 × 7.5, just twice as large in each direction.

Will changing slide size ruin my layout?

Changing size scales every element, and moving between aspect ratios re-proportions them. Set the size before you build. If you must switch late, expect to reposition images on every slide.
